Prowers Medical Center is constantly changing and adapting to new technology as it advances in the healthcare industry. We ensure to invest in the most up-to-date equipment and resources for our providers and patients to deliver local access to high-quality healthcare.

Most recently updated is our online patient portal, in which patients have direct access to their health information and records at their fingertips.

Prowers Medical Center transitioned to the new portal in early August to meet requirements for Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Promoting Interoperability Programs, formerly known as its Electronic Health Record (EHR) Programs. The program encourages eligible professionals, hospitals and critical access hospitals to adopt, implement, upgrade and demonstrate meaningful use of certified electronic health record technology.

What’s New?

With easier navigation and an up-to-date look and feel, patients will notice several positive improvements within the updated portal.

According to Kristell Stegman, Informatics Specialist at Prowers Medical Center, the new portal has an interactive user interface that brings patients’ healthcare to life and promotes a collaborative approach to care. It allows for quick access to personal information and provides the ability to:

  • View upcoming appointments.
  • View medical results and trends over time.
  • Find health forms and pay bills. (Coming soon)
  • Send messages and ask questions to your healthcare provider.
  • Print or forward health information to other providers.
  • Manage prescriptions. (Coming soon)

Hospital patients can view health information about their stay as an inpatient via the same secure portal through My Medical Encounters. The portal stores information on allergies, immunizations, medications, health concerns and test results from Sept. 1, 2014, and beyond. Limited outpatient tests are also available to view.

Patients can download the MyCareCorner app on their mobile device, available on AppStore and Google Play. The app enhances access to your personal health records from any location with internet access.

“The new technology allows patients to have the tools to be more engaged in their health — anytime, anywhere,” Stegman said.

How to Access

After an encounter at Prowers Medical Center, patients will receive a registration email that provides them access to the new portal’s URL: login.mycarecorner.net.

If patients previously registered on the old patient portal, they will be redirected to the new portal to sign up and update their log-in information. Patients should contact Connie Gangwish, Prowers Medical Center Activities Coordinator, at 719-336-4343 ext. 2111, to request an invitation e-mail that links their medical records to MyCareCorner. Gangwish also offers additional portal support if needed.

How to Obtain Other Records

Most health information can be found on the patient portal. If patients want to access their accumulative medical records over time, they should contact Health Information Management at 719-336-6722 to request records with a 48-hour notice and a small fee. When requesting medical records, proof of identification must be presented.

If a patient is requesting medical records for a deceased family member, they can receive the medical records by presenting a birth or death certificate, as well as their own proof of identification to verify they are a family member.

Additional directions, including MyCareCorner sign-up instructions and informative videos, can be found on the Prowers Medical Center website. For more information or to access the new patient portal after you have created an account, go to prowersmedical.com/patient-and-visitors/patient-portals.
