At Prowers Medical Center, we are committed to improving your health, and the health of the entire community. That’s why we have several community partnerships and sponsor health-related events. Key community connections and activities include:
City of Lamar
Prowers Medical Center is located within the city limits of Lamar, CO.
Lamar is a Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of Prowers County.
City of Lamar Parks and Recreation
The Recreation Department offers a wide variety of recreation programs for all ages.
Prowers Medical Center coordinates and partners with the Lamar Parks and Recreation Department (LPRD) on a variety of events throughout the year. The Annual Spring Sprint is co-hosted with LPRD and Prowers Medical Center during the month of May.
Colorado Alzheimer’s Association
The Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado is the premier source of information and support for Coloradans living with dementia and their families and caregivers.
KLMR
Cherry Creek Radio, LLC. KLMR – 93.5 FM. Classic Country on KLMR-AM and Classic Hits on KLMR-FM. Active guest appearances on their morning radio show “Anything Goes” on the 3rd Friday of each month.
KVAY-FM
Beacon Broadcasting, LLC. KVAY – 105.7 FM. Southeast Colorado’s Best Country Radio Station. Active guest appearances on their morning radio program on the 4th Thursday of each month.
Lamar Chamber of Commerce
Prowers Medical Center is an active member of the Lamar Chamber of Commerce and coordinates on community activities throughout the year, i.e. Oktoberfest, Enchanted Forest, etc.
Lamar Community College
Provide clinical training for nursing students, serve on advisory board, share athletic trainer who attends sporting events when possible (same for high school games).
Lamar Public Schools
Prowers Medical Center supports Lamar Public Schools with sports physicals and health fairs, as well as athletic training during the school sports.
Prowers County
Prowers County is located in Southeastern Colorado.
The Lamar Ledger
The Lamar Ledger reports on local news, sports, businesses and entertainment activities in Lamar and the surrounding areas. The Ledger hosts a weekly Spotlight Column for newsworthy articles from Prowers Medical Center. The column is published each Thursday, providing information in English and Spanish.
The Prowers Journal
The Prowers Journal serves as a primary source website and print edition newsletter for community-oriented information within Prowers County and the surrounding areas. Prowers Medical Center is an active sponsor of this news source.
Prowers County Public Health & Environment, Southeast Health Group, High Plains Community Health Center
Conduct community-wide health needs assessment every three years to decide the community’s most pressing health needs and what action to take.

Join us for classes and other events in our community.
Prowers Medical Center Health Fairs
During 2024, we will have one month, every quarter, dedicated to low-cost screening labs to help you monitor chronic conditions, or get that annual check-in on your health.
From 7 – 9 a.m. every Wednesday in January, April, July, and October, patients can receive a wellness screen for $25.

Planned in 2016 and launched in 2017 to give the community a voice in their care.
