Title:  Home Health LPN/Registered Nurse

Full-Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

This position assumes responsibility and accountability for planning and providing coordinated nursing services and securing appropriate rehabilitation services to all patients in an assigned caseload.  Assumes the roles of patient advocate, teacher and counselor in assisting patients to their optimum levels of wellness.  Maintains appropriate documentation of home services and effectively communicates with patients, significant others, and other care providers.

Responsibility

Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing, systematic manner.  Formulates a goal directed plan of care by establishing priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources.  Performs efficiently in all patient situations, following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons and documenting events.  Supervises those to whom nursing functions have been delegated on an ongoing basis and in accordance with regulatory requirements.  Performs direct patient care in the home.

Accountability

Reports directly to the Home Health Administrator.

Qualifications

Employment Variables

Full Time Benefited Position working 30-36 hours per week.  Will require on call rotation with compensated call time.

Title:  Housekeeper

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

Responsible for the cleaning, sanitation, waste removal, and floor care of all public and common areas of the hospital campus. Provides a clean sanitary, comfortable, orderly and satisfying environment for the patients, employees and general public.

Responsibility

Performs routine duties of cleaning and sanitizing patient and non-patient areas of the hospital facilities. Establishes and maintains a regular scheduled cleaning program throughout the hospital.  Maintains patient care areas, and other clinical areas that require a high level of sanitation.

Accountability

Housekeeper reports directly to the Environmental Services Supervisor and to the Facilities Manager.

Special Demands

Mental:             Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.  Ability to accept supervision from a number of persons.

Physical:          Ability to perform tasks despite numerous interruptions.  Pushing, bending, stooping, reaching; on feet most of the day.

Qualifications

Experience:      Experience helpful but not required.  On the job training will be provided.

Working Environment

Works inside hospital facility and Clinic Building as scheduled.  Mainly day shift working 40 hours per week but may have to cover evening shift. Will work holidays and weekends according to schedule.

Title: MA/Referral Specialist

Prowers Medical Center Clinic

Full Time Positions

 

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

The Prowers Medical Center Clinic MA is a patient caregiver with specific skills who works directly with the physician. The MA provides patient care within the scope of practice for MA’s. Coordinates referrals to specialist.

Responsibility

Adheres to the performance standards, and policies and procedures of the hospital and the clinic.  Adheres to principles of infection control.  Assessment of patients treated in the clinic.  Assists with preparation of room for treatment; prep for elective or emergency treatments; provides emotional support; coordinates smooth transfer to hospital as needed, or for additional testing. Responsible to carry out appropriate physician orders and other duties as designated. Performs proper documentation. Assists physician in different clinic care areas. Maintains patient confidentiality.

Accountability

The MA reports directly to the Provider and the Clinic Practice Manager.

Special Demands

Mental:                                 Ability to adjust and interact with a wide variety of job situations involving many different people and projects.  Creative problem solving required.  Excellent communication skills with bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.  Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations.

Physical:             Extensive standing, sitting, walking, heavy lifting.

Qualifications

Education: Medical Assistant Certification preferred. May substitute MA certification for experience.

Title:  R.N. – EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Full Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

 

 

General Description

This position is one of providing direct patient care to both acute and chronic patients of all age groups presented to the Emergency Room for care. It requires excellent triage and assessment skills. Ability to function under high stress situations is a must.

Responsibility

Executive Administrative Assistant

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

Provides administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  Facilitates verbal and written communication between the CEO, Board Members, Medical Staff and  Team Members of Prowers Medical Center.

Responsibility

The Executive Administrative Assistant’s duties include typing, filing, and maintaining correspondence, records, and information files. Arranges travel schedules and reservations for the CEO, Senior Management and Board Members. Assists in maintaining the CEO’s calendar.  Also assists the CEO in developing presentations.  Types and distributes policies, correspondence and meeting minutes for Administrative related functions.  Maintains Medical Staff and Board Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Fair Hearing Plan and  organizational policies.

Accountability

The Executive Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Job Summary

 

General Description

The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice.  The RN will function as a primary care giver.

Responsibility

Conducts assessments, documents care, provides emotional support, coordinates transfers, recovers patients, circulates  cases, assist with processing instruments/equipment in central sterilizing and prepares patients for surgery.  Assist other staff members and provides patient education.  Knowledge of and/or interest in technical procedures and care.  Adheres to principles of infection control and general policies of the department.

General working hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Will rotate surgical call with other staff often on an every other week schedule.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/Radiologic Technologist

Full Time Position

 

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

  • A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound. ARRT required- CT Preferred (CT registration within 1 year required)

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.

Accountability

The Imaging/Radiologic Technologist reports directly to the Imaging Manager.

Physical:         Flexibility to work in continually changing conditions.  Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment.  Ability to lift and move patient with or without assistance and maneuver equipment greater than or equal to 20 pounds.  Agility is required for frequent changes in position.  Visual and hearing acuity required to receive feedback and information from patients.  Periods of stooping, standing, bending, moderate lifting, and generally oriented patient care is included in this position.

Qualifications

Active certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.

CT and X-ray experience required. Willingness to cross-train inMRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Mammography in the future.

Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate. Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or equivalent experience is required.

Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable

Working Environment

Works in the Imaging Department as assigned.  Hours and shifts are variable and will include rotation of coverage for weekends, holidays, and on call.

Title: Foundation Executive Director

Part -Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

This position is directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Prowers Medical Center Foundation (PMCF) subject to such limitations as may be imposed by the PMCF Board of Directors, CEO, PMCF/PMC written policies, IRS regulations governing not-for-profit organizations and the laws of the State of Colorado.  The individual in this position has wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment in the interpretation and implementation of policy, regulations and laws.

Responsibility

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Prowers Medical Center Foundation (PMCF), in accordance with the annual operating plan and budget approved by PMC CEO/CFO and the PMCF Board.  Such functions include the maintaining of foundation records, meeting minutes and reports.  Collaborates with the PMC CEO and CFO to establish the annual foundation operating budget, which is subject to the review and approval of both the PMCF Board and the PMC Board.  Responsible for coordinating PMCF Board meetings including notification of meeting time and place, notification to foundation members, maintaining meeting minutes.  Files at least monthly written summary of foundation activities to Prowers Medical Center Board and CEO.

Working Environment

Part time position working 20 hours a week.  Position requires the employee to possibly work evenings, nights, and weekends including frequent travel outside the local community.

Title:  Licensed Respiratory Therapist

Intermittent Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

Under the supervision of the Cardio-Pulmonary manager, the Licensed Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, and department policies and procedures.  The Licensed Respiratory Therapist manages and provides care to patients via the nursing process, therapeutic environment, treatment modalities and inter-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibility

Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychologic and cognitive status.  Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of oxygen concentrations and medication doses as they relate to patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.  Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.

Accountability

The Licensed Respiratory Therapist reports directly to the Cardio-Pulmonary Supervisor.

Title: Surgical Tech

Surgical Services Department

Full Time Position

Job Summary

General Description

The Surgical technician (Surg Tech) functions as a part of the surgical healthcare team, providing technical support to surgeons, RN’s, and anesthetist in the operating room setting.  He/she works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  During the operation the SurgTech arranges supplies and instruments, keeping an accurate count of the latter at all times; passes instruments and other sterile supplies to the surgeon during the operation; helps apply dressings, and helps prepare and preserve specimens taken for testing.  In the Sterile Processing area, the Surg Tech will operate the sterilizers and run the various testing to validate and verify sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies. The Surg Tech will be responsible for cleaning and decontamination of surgical instruments following their use in surgery after regular hours, and checking instruments before and after cases for proper working condition and sterility.

Responsibility

Uses principles of aseptic practice in varying situations.  Inspects sterile items for contamination before opening. Maintains sterility while opening sterile items for procedure.  Anticipates the need for supplies and equipment.  Checks supplies for outdates, restocks operating room and orders supplies to maintain an adequate on hand supply.

Accountability

The Surgical Technician reports directly to the Surgical Services Unit Manager.

Special Demands

Mental:          Moderate to high stress.  Physical/emotional stamina with the ability to perform effectively in stressful situations at times.  Ability to adjust and interact with a wide variety of job situations involving many different people and projects.

Physical:       Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.  Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible.

Qualifications

Experience:  Current Surgical Technician certification or a minimum of one year of current experience as a surg technician is preferred.  Must Register as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado. Previous experience as CNA or LPN will be considered (must still be registered as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado before employment). CPR certification required or attained within first 6 months.

Employment Variables

General working hours are 0630 – 1500, Monday thru Friday.  On call status is involved.
