Food Service Worker I

Intermittent Position

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

General Description

Will do cold food preparation (salads and desserts) for patients, cafeteria and catered meals.  Responsible for maintaining high standards of quality food production, portion control, sanitation and safety.  Will help serve cafeteria customers as well as patients.  Help with dishes and cleaning duties.  Runs cash register and counts back change to customers.

Responsibility

Must be able to serve attractive and tasty food in a timely manner.  Must be reliable, dependable, have knowledge of and/or be willing to learn the special diets & use of cash register.  Must be able to communicate well with others.  Confidentiality of information is expected at all times.  Must follow safety and sanitation guidelines.

Accountability

The Food Service Worker I reports directly to the Dietitian/Food Services Manager.

Special Demands

Mental:                             Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations.  Able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people and have good communication skills.

Physical:          Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.

Qualifications

Combination equivalent of education and experience or at least high school graduate required, with experience in Food Services preferred. Must have the ability to read, write and to follow oral and written instructions. Must demonstrate basic math knowledge to be able to count back change.

Employment Variables

Working on an as needed basis. Shift hours vary from 5 am to 1:30 pm or 9:30am to 6 pm. Will work every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays.

R.N. – EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Full Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

 

 

General Description

This position is one of providing direct patient care to both acute and chronic patients of all age groups presented to the Emergency Room for care. It requires excellent triage and assessment skills. Ability to function under high stress situations is a must.

Responsibility

Triage and assessment of patients presenting to the Emergency Room. Obtaining and documenting pertinent information (V.S.; chief complaint; past medical history; current treatments given; any changes in condition during E.R. visit, etc.)  Also responsible to carry out appropriate physician orders and other duties designated.  Is also responsible for the supervision of any LPNs, Nurse Aides, EMTs and others as assigned to work in the Emergency Room.

Accountability

The Registered Nurse working in the Emergency Department reports directly to the Emergency Department Manager.

Special Demands

Mental:                                 Extremely high stress area.

Physical:             Involves a lot of walking and standing most of the time on duty.  Frequent reaching, twisting, squatting, lifting, and handling of equipment.  Frequent exposure to blood and body fluids.  Frequent exposure to communicable disease/illness.

Qualifications

Education:       Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and current Colorado license.  Must have documentation of current CPR and Basic Life Support training.  ACLS, TNCC and PALS must have certification or equivalent within six months of employment.

Experience:      Previous related experience. Graduate nurses with one year of Medical/Surgical experience.

Will be working 7:00pm to 7:00am.

IT/Facilities Intern

Temporary Position

 

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

The Intern will primarily assist both the IT & Facilities Departments with the completion of various cable and security projects scheduled for completion in 2019.  Will route cable through conduit, above ceilings and between floors per job specifications. May install, terminate and test low voltage cables and fiber optic cables as directed. The position is responsible for pulling cable, terminating station ends, head end rough in, and other job related tasks.  The position may also work on larger projects with greater complexity as needed and able.

 

Responsibility

Appropriately installs wire and cable supports above ceiling.  Does not support wires or cables on existing electrical conduits or sprinkler lines.  Secures firewalls and ceiling tiles throughout the project and at completion.  Adheres to all required project specific as well as company safety requirements.

 

Accountability

The IT/Facilities Intern reports directly to the Director of IT and the Facilities Manager.

Information Systems Technologist

Full-Time Position

Job Summary

General Description

As the Information Systems Technologist, you will be the main point of contact for first level Help Desk support for the hospital and clinics. This includes supporting users by researching and answering questions; troubleshooting problems; maintaining workstations, as well as printer and LAN performance

Responsibility

Provides answers to team members by identifying problems, researching answers, and then guiding team member through corrective steps. Participates in development of team member training programs by identifying learning issues; recommending instructional language.  Triaging Help Desk tickets, remediating what you can and assigning the rest in a timely fashion.  Setting up network printers on computers, troubleshooting issues with the printers, and calling the Print Management Vendor when needed.

Accountability

The Information Systems Technologist team member reports directly to the Director of IT.

Special Demands

Mental:                             Astute communication skills.  Ability to adjust to a variety of changing duties and ability to make decisions affecting assigned workload.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/Radiologic Technologist

Full Time Position

 

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

  • A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound. ARRT required- CT Preferred (CT registration within 1 year required)

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.

Accountability

The Imaging/Radiologic Technologist reports directly to the Imaging Manager.

Qualifications

Active certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.

CT and X-ray experience required. Willingness to cross-train inMRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Mammography in the future.

Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate. Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or equivalent experience is required.

Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable

Working Environment

Works in the Imaging Department as assigned.  Hours and shifts are variable and will include rotation of coverage for weekends, holidays, and on call.

Title:  Project Manager

Full Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

Shall be responsible for the management of projects/programs for facility as directed by senior leadership.  The purpose of this position is to lead individual and multi-disciplined project solutions for facility, with direct accountability for project delivery. Characteristics of responsible projects include:

  • Complexity: Medium to High Risk: Medium  Duration: Midterm (weeks to months)

Responsibility

Responsible for creating, maintaining, and tracking project plans, sprint plans, resource plans. Liaises with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis to effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.  Establishes and implements project management processes and methodologies for the facility to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adheres to high quality standards and meets customer expectations.  Assembles project plans and teamwork assignments, directs and monitors work efforts on a daily basis, identifies resource needs, performs quality reviews; and escalates functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.

Accountability

This position is directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Qualifications

Ability to assist with the management of diverse and strategic projects.  Basic understanding of program and project budgets, basic understanding of implementing project plans, monitoring progress, resource usage and quality, basic knowledge of project management disciplines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to effectively present information. Computer Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook – mandatory. Microsoft Project and Visio – preferable. Web-based project management system software experience preferable.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience preferred.  Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred (e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma, PMP etc.)

Experience:

1- 3 years of Healthcare work experience, 1- 2 years managing projects

Title: Foundation Executive Director

Part -Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

This position is directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Prowers Medical Center Foundation (PMCF) subject to such limitations as may be imposed by the PMCF Board of Directors, CEO, PMCF/PMC written policies, IRS regulations governing not-for-profit organizations and the laws of the State of Colorado.  The individual in this position has wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment in the interpretation and implementation of policy, regulations and laws.

Responsibility

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Prowers Medical Center Foundation (PMCF), in accordance with the annual operating plan and budget approved by PMC CEO/CFO and the PMCF Board.  Such functions include the maintaining of foundation records, meeting minutes and reports.  Collaborates with the PMC CEO and CFO to establish the annual foundation operating budget, which is subject to the review and approval of both the PMCF Board and the PMC Board.  Responsible for coordinating PMCF Board meetings including notification of meeting time and place, notification to foundation members, maintaining meeting minutes.  Files at least monthly written summary of foundation activities to Prowers Medical Center Board and CEO.

Accountability

The Foundation Executive Director reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration or related field; experience in health administration, non-profit administration, community relations or marketing would be beneficial.

Experience: Two years’ work and/or volunteer experience with significant not-for-profit group/organization management, fund raising, grant writing and administrative responsibilities.  Advanced personal computer experience using spreadsheets and/or databases required.  Ability to work with physicians, community organizations and the general public in a collaborative manner.  Knowledge of state regulations.

Working Environment

Part time position working 20 hours a week.  Position requires the employee to possibly work evenings, nights, and weekends including frequent travel outside the local community.

Title:  Licensed Respiratory Therapist

Intermittent Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

Under the supervision of the Cardio-Pulmonary manager, the Licensed Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, and department policies and procedures.  The Licensed Respiratory Therapist manages and provides care to patients via the nursing process, therapeutic environment, treatment modalities and inter-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibility

Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychologic and cognitive status.  Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of oxygen concentrations and medication doses as they relate to patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.  Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.

Accountability

The Licensed Respiratory Therapist reports directly to the Cardio-Pulmonary Supervisor.

Title: Surgical Tech

Surgical Services Department

Full Time Position

Job Summary

General Description

The Surgical technician (Surg Tech) functions as a part of the surgical healthcare team, providing technical support to surgeons, RN’s, and anesthetist in the operating room setting.  He/she works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  During the operation the SurgTech arranges supplies and instruments, keeping an accurate count of the latter at all times; passes instruments and other sterile supplies to the surgeon during the operation; helps apply dressings, and helps prepare and preserve specimens taken for testing.  In the Sterile Processing area, the Surg Tech will operate the sterilizers and run the various testing to validate and verify sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies. The Surg Tech will be responsible for cleaning and decontamination of surgical instruments following their use in surgery after regular hours, and checking instruments before and after cases for proper working condition and sterility.

Responsibility

Uses principles of aseptic practice in varying situations.  Inspects sterile items for contamination before opening. Maintains sterility while opening sterile items for procedure.  Anticipates the need for supplies and equipment.  Checks supplies for outdates, restocks operating room and orders supplies to maintain an adequate on hand supply.

Accountability

The Surgical Technician reports directly to the Surgical Services Unit Manager.

Special Demands

Mental:          Moderate to high stress.  Physical/emotional stamina with the ability to perform effectively in stressful situations at times.  Ability to adjust and interact with a wide variety of job situations involving many different people and projects.

Physical:       Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.  Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible.

Qualifications

Experience:  Current Surgical Technician certification or a minimum of one year of current experience as a surg technician is preferred.  Must Register as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado. Previous experience as CNA or LPN will be considered (must still be registered as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado before employment). CPR certification required or attained within first 6 months.

Employment Variables

General working hours are 0630 – 1500, Monday thru Friday.  On call status is involved.
