Job Summary

 

General Description

The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice.  The RN will function as a primary care giver.

Responsibility

Conducts assessments, documents care, provides emotional support, coordinates transfers, recovers patients, circulates  cases, assist with processing instruments/equipment in central sterilizing and prepares patients for surgery.  Assist other staff members and provides patient education.  Knowledge of and/or interest in technical procedures and care.  Adheres to principles of infection control and general policies of the department.

Accountability

Reports directly to the Surgical Services Manager.

Special Demands

Mental:                         Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations.  Able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people and have good communication skills.

Physical:          Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.  Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible.

Qualifications

 

Education:       RN graduate with current Colorado licensure.

Experience:      1 Year Medical Surgical experience. OR/PACU experience preferred.

Skills:                          ACLS certification preferred.  If not certified, must obtain certification within twelve (12) months.

Employment Variables

General working hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Will rotate surgical call with other staff often on an every other week schedule.

Title:  Admission Clerk/Receptionist

1 – Full-Time Position

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

General Description

Gathers accurate information on all patients.  Prepares all required documentation efficiently to allow for expedient processing of paperwork for the hospital Admissions and Physician Office/Clinic settings.  Answers phones promptly, follows through with messages or pages, makes patient appointments and keeps patient flow running smoothly to avoid long delays when possible. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibility

Familiarity of all admission forms is a must to ensure completeness of all forms immediately upon patient being presented at the admission area.  Answers phones immediately and transfers calls or takes messages as needed.  Understands and enforces the credit policy by collecting funds on each account if possible.  Additional duties include but are not limited to typing, copying, filing, and maintaining adequate supplies.

Accountability

The Admission Clerk/Receptionist reports directly to the Patient Registration Supervisor.

Employment Variables

Works mainly in the Admission Office.  Visits to Emergency Room area to obtain necessary information to complete documentation may be required during some instances. General working hours require 40 hours/week. May rotate shifts according to staff and census needs.

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the clerical and administrative support of day-to-day human resources operations.  The HR Assistant greets all employees, vendors, applicants, and visitors appropriately and handles all incoming calls and communications.  The HR Assistant screens information received and directs individuals to the appropriate person or department for assistance.

Responsibility

The HR Assistant is responsible for all recordkeeping of HR Personnel Files, by making new

personnel file folders and filing incoming documentation. The HR Assistant maintains and compiles all necessary documentation for reviewing and completing the new hire orientation checklist.  Assists with the development and distribution of New Hire Orientation Packets and  in New Hire Orientation sessions.

Title:  RN – New Beginnings Birth Center

Full-Time Position

Night Shift

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice.  The position is one of providing direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and to provide direct care to the newborn.  Assuring all aspects of maternal childcare.

Responsibility

Performing assessments, monitoring process of labor, preparing for C-sections, inductions, and proper documentation of nursing care.  Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum including infant care and providing patient education.  Prepares delivery room, provides emotional support, and coordinates transfers.  Administer IV medications, adhere to principles of infection control and general policies of OB department.  Knowledge and/or interest in obstetrics and equipment.

Accountability

The RN reports directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager.

Qualifications

Education: RN graduate with current Colorado licensure. Must have current CPR certification.  Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment.

Experience: 1 year Medical/Surgical experience and experience in Obstetrics care preferred.

Skills: Knowledge of or interest in learning labor, delivery, postpartum and nursing care essentials.  Principles of sterile technique and infection control. Skilled in technical aspects of mother/infant care. Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people and have good communication skills.

Working Environment

Full Time working 36 hours per week, 7:00pm to 7:00am.  May rotate shifts and areas as staffing and census requires.

On call required.

Title: CNA – Home Health Agency

Part-Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

This position is one of providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice that is essential to health care at home.

 

Responsibility

Provides general care in accordance with established nursing care standards and procedures under the direction and supervision of the RN or Nurse in Charge. Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy services, vital signs and personal care.  Assists with medications that are ordinarily self-administered.  Performs routine treatment procedures within the scope of practice as defined by state licensure/certification and PMC standards.

IT/Facilities Intern

Temporary Position

 

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

The Intern will primarily assist both the IT & Facilities Departments with the completion of various cable and security projects scheduled for completion in 2019.  Will route cable through conduit, above ceilings and between floors per job specifications. May install, terminate and test low voltage cables and fiber optic cables as directed. The position is responsible for pulling cable, terminating station ends, head end rough in, and other job related tasks.  The position may also work on larger projects with greater complexity as needed and able.

 

Responsibility

Appropriately installs wire and cable supports above ceiling.  Does not support wires or cables on existing electrical conduits or sprinkler lines.  Secures firewalls and ceiling tiles throughout the project and at completion.  Adheres to all required project specific as well as company safety requirements.

 

Accountability

The IT/Facilities Intern reports directly to the Director of IT and the Facilities Manager.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer/Radiologic Technologist

Full Time Position

 

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

  • A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound. ARRT required- CT Preferred (CT registration within 1 year required)

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.

Accountability

The Imaging/Radiologic Technologist reports directly to the Imaging Manager.

Qualifications

Active certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.

CT and X-ray experience required. Willingness to cross-train inMRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Mammography in the future.

Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate. Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or equivalent experience is required.

Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable

Working Environment

Works in the Imaging Department as assigned.  Hours and shifts are variable and will include rotation of coverage for weekends, holidays, and on call.

Title: Foundation Executive Director

Part -Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

This position is directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Prowers Medical Center Foundation (PMCF) subject to such limitations as may be imposed by the PMCF Board of Directors, CEO, PMCF/PMC written policies, IRS regulations governing not-for-profit organizations and the laws of the State of Colorado.  The individual in this position has wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment in the interpretation and implementation of policy, regulations and laws.

Responsibility

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Prowers Medical Center Foundation (PMCF), in accordance with the annual operating plan and budget approved by PMC CEO/CFO and the PMCF Board.  Such functions include the maintaining of foundation records, meeting minutes and reports.  Collaborates with the PMC CEO and CFO to establish the annual foundation operating budget, which is subject to the review and approval of both the PMCF Board and the PMC Board.  Responsible for coordinating PMCF Board meetings including notification of meeting time and place, notification to foundation members, maintaining meeting minutes.  Files at least monthly written summary of foundation activities to Prowers Medical Center Board and CEO.

Working Environment

Part time position working 20 hours a week.  Position requires the employee to possibly work evenings, nights, and weekends including frequent travel outside the local community.

Title:  Licensed Respiratory Therapist

Intermittent Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

Under the supervision of the Cardio-Pulmonary manager, the Licensed Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, and department policies and procedures.  The Licensed Respiratory Therapist manages and provides care to patients via the nursing process, therapeutic environment, treatment modalities and inter-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibility

Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychologic and cognitive status.  Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of oxygen concentrations and medication doses as they relate to patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.  Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.

Accountability

The Licensed Respiratory Therapist reports directly to the Cardio-Pulmonary Supervisor.

Title: Surgical Tech

Surgical Services Department

Full Time Position

Job Summary

General Description

The Surgical technician (Surg Tech) functions as a part of the surgical healthcare team, providing technical support to surgeons, RN’s, and anesthetist in the operating room setting.  He/she works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  During the operation the SurgTech arranges supplies and instruments, keeping an accurate count of the latter at all times; passes instruments and other sterile supplies to the surgeon during the operation; helps apply dressings, and helps prepare and preserve specimens taken for testing.  In the Sterile Processing area, the Surg Tech will operate the sterilizers and run the various testing to validate and verify sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies. The Surg Tech will be responsible for cleaning and decontamination of surgical instruments following their use in surgery after regular hours, and checking instruments before and after cases for proper working condition and sterility.

Responsibility

Uses principles of aseptic practice in varying situations.  Inspects sterile items for contamination before opening. Maintains sterility while opening sterile items for procedure.  Anticipates the need for supplies and equipment.  Checks supplies for outdates, restocks operating room and orders supplies to maintain an adequate on hand supply.

Accountability

The Surgical Technician reports directly to the Surgical Services Unit Manager.

Mental:          Moderate to high stress.  Physical/emotional stamina with the ability to perform effectively in stressful situations at times.  Ability to adjust and interact with a wide variety of job situations involving many different people and projects.

Qualifications

Experience:  Current Surgical Technician certification or a minimum of one year of current experience as a surg technician is preferred.  Must Register as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado. Previous experience as CNA or LPN will be considered (must still be registered as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado before employment). CPR certification required or attained within first 6 months.

General working hours are 0630 – 1500, Monday thru Friday.  On call status is involved.
