ER Admission Clerk/CNA

Part-Time Positions

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

To coordinate and maintain the overall clerical functioning of the ED. Answer phones promptly and follow through with messages or pages.  Verify insurance coverage, enter patient demographics, and assist with transfers to other facilities. Maintain logbooks and complete reports. Gather information from patients in compliance with EMTALA regulations so that accounts can be properly billed and collected.  Enforce the credit policy by trying to collect on patients at the time of service.  Provides direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department setting.  Obtains patient medical history and vital signs.  Prepares and maintains treatment areas. Assist with other duties as assigned.

Responsibility

Completes the registration process in a prompt and accurate manner.  Works closely with patient representatives to ensure proper reimbursement.  Ensures data quality.  Answers phone and transfers calls promptly.  Responsible for cash bags.  Maintains correct patient identification.  Obtain, evaluate, and record patient history employing critical thinking skills. Obtain vital signs. Maintains correct patient identification, patient records and confidentiality of patient information, supplies, and equipment for patient care and clinic management.  Receives, verifies, and signs for clinic deliveries.  Keeps informed as to whereabouts of patients, nurses and providers.  CNA assists with assessments, patient care, patient transport and provides emotional support to patients.  Assists providers and adheres to principles of infection control and general policies of the department.

Accountability

The Admission Clerk/CNA reports directly to the Emergency Services Manager.

Qualifications

Education:       High school graduate with courses in clerical skills desirable.  Current Colorado CNA certification required.

Experience:     Office clerical skills, use of computer, typewriter, calculator, copy machine and PBX helpful. Must have moderate and pleasant telephone and paging voice.  Handwriting must be neat and legible.

Skills:              Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Able to interact effectively with a

                        wide variety of people and have good communication skills.

Employment Variables

Works mainly in the Emergency Department.  Works 24 hours per week and on an as needed basis.  May rotate shifts according to staff and schedule needs.

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Full Time Position

 

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

  • A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is a Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.

Accountability

The Imaging/Radiologic Technologist reports directly to the Imaging Manager.

Qualifications

Active certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.

Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate. Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or equivalent experience is required.

Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable

Working Environment

Works in the Imaging Department as assigned.  Hours and shifts are variable and will include rotation of coverage for weekends, holidays, and on call.

Maintenance Worker I

Full-Time Position

Job Summary

General Description

Installs, repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical, and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufactures specifications, using hand and power tools, precision measuring and testing instruments.

Observes mechanical devices (pumps, engines, motors, conveyor systems, HVAC systems) in operation.  Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.  Repairs or replaces defective parts.  Adjusts digital and analog parts or devices and control instruments or may install special functional and structural parts, lubricates and cleans parts.  Start devices to test their performance.  May initiate purchase requests for parts and machines.  May repair electrical equipment and/or install equipment.

Maintains records for equipment showing; type, model number, date of installation, and extent of servicing.

Responsibility

Repairs & maintains plant equipment such as: boiler, pumps and other motors to ensure they are in proper working order.

Performs routine maintenance on roof top units which includes changing of filters, lubrication of motors and changing of belts.

Assists in the performance of building maintenance work involving minor repairs and carpentry tasks. Demonstrates effective knowledge of and ability to follow building code requirements.

Accountability

The Maintenance Worker I team member reports directly to the Facilities Maintenance Manager.

Rehabilitation Receptionist

Full-Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

Under the general and direct supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation, provide clerical, secretarial and receptionist support for the Rehabilitation Department, independently and with minimal supervision.  Perform other diverse duties as requested or required.

Responsibility

JOB SUMMARY

 

General Description

The Prowers Medical Center Clinic MA/LPN is a patient caregiver with specific skills who works directly with the physician.  The MA or LPN provides patient care within the scope of practice for MA’s or LPN’’s.  Coordinates referrals to specialist.

Responsibility

Adheres to the performance standards, and policies and procedures of the hospital and the clinic.  Adheres to principles of infection control.  Assessment of patients treated in the clinic.  Assists with preparation of room for treatment; prep for elective or emergency treatments; provides emotional support; coordinates smooth transfer to hospital as needed, or for additional testing. Accountability

Seasonal Ground Maintenance

Seasonal Position

 

 

Job Summary

 

General Description

To maintain the exterior appearance of the hospital campus to the highest possible standard. Mowing grass, trimming and edging around trees and sidewalks. Keeping the campus clean and free of trash and debris, maintaining all sprinkler and irrigation systems. Maintaining all equipment associated with grounds keeping. Assists with other main duties, as instructed by supervisor, or if inclement weather prevents outdoor activities.

Duration of position:  Temporary/seasonal, 40 hours/week, lasting from June 1st through October 31st.

Responsibility

Maintains grounds in clean and orderly manner including mowing, trimming, weeding, aerating and fertilizing lawns.

Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and grounds. Reports mechanical malfunctions to appropriate party for action: moves and assists in the moving of furniture and equipment at various facilities/sites.

General Description

Shall be responsible for the management of projects/programs for facility as directed by senior leadership.  The purpose of this position is to lead individual and multi-disciplined project solutions for facility, with direct accountability for project delivery. Qualifications

Ability to assist with the management of diverse and strategic projects.  Basic understanding of program and project budgets, basic understanding of implementing project plans, monitoring progress, resource usage and quality, basic knowledge of project management disciplines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to effectively present information. Computer Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook – mandatory. Microsoft Project and Visio – preferable. Web-based project management system software experience preferable.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience preferred.  Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred (e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma, PMP etc.)

Title: Foundation Executive Director

Part -Time Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

This position is directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Prowers Medical Center Foundation (PMCF) subject to such limitations as may be imposed by the PMCF Board of Directors, CEO, PMCF/PMC written policies, IRS regulations governing not-for-profit organizations and the laws of the State of Colorado.  The individual in this position has wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment in the interpretation and implementation of policy, regulations and laws.

Responsibility

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Prowers Medical Center Foundation (PMCF), in accordance with the annual operating plan and budget approved by PMC CEO/CFO and the PMCF Board.  Such functions include the maintaining of foundation records, meeting minutes and reports.  Collaborates with the PMC CEO and CFO to establish the annual foundation operating budget, which is subject to the review and approval of both the PMCF Board and the PMC Board.  Responsible for coordinating PMCF Board meetings including notification of meeting time and place, notification to foundation members, maintaining meeting minutes.  Files at least monthly written summary of foundation activities to Prowers Medical Center Board and CEO.

Accountability

The Foundation Executive Director reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Experience: Two years’ work and/or volunteer experience with significant not-for-profit group/organization management, fund raising, grant writing and administrative responsibilities.  Advanced personal computer experience using spreadsheets and/or databases required.  Ability to work with physicians, community organizations and the general public in a collaborative manner.  Knowledge of state regulations.

Working Environment

Part time position working 20 hours a week.  Position requires the employee to possibly work evenings, nights, and weekends including frequent travel outside the local community.

Title:  Imaging Department Manager

Full Time Position

 

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Imaging Services Department.  Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from newborn to elderly.  Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in quality improvement activities.  Assures competency of all personnel.  Assists in formulating the budget.  Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.

Responsibility

Works with Hospital administration on planning, organizing and directing Imaging Services operations and ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.  Makes daily rounds in Imaging Services to judge effectiveness of operation, utilization of personnel and supplies, and general ethical and professional atmosphere.

Accountability

The Imaging Department Manager reports directly to the Chief Clinical Officer.

Title:  Licensed Respiratory Therapist

Intermittent Position

JOB SUMMARY

General Description

Under the supervision of the Cardio-Pulmonary manager, the Licensed Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, and department policies and procedures.  The Licensed Respiratory Therapist manages and provides care to patients via the nursing process, therapeutic environment, treatment modalities and inter-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibility

Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychologic and cognitive status.  Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of oxygen concentrations and medication doses as they relate to patients of varying ages, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients.  Formulates a goal directed plan of care which is prioritized and based on determined nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.

Accountability

The Licensed Respiratory Therapist reports directly to the Cardio-Pulmonary Supervisor.

Title: Surgical Tech

Surgical Services Department

Full Time Position

Job Summary

General Description

The Surgical technician (Surg Tech) functions as a part of the surgical healthcare team, providing technical support to surgeons, RN’s, and anesthetist in the operating room setting.  He/she works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  During the operation the SurgTech arranges supplies and instruments, keeping an accurate count of the latter at all times; passes instruments and other sterile supplies to the surgeon during the operation; helps apply dressings, and helps prepare and preserve specimens taken for testing.  In the Sterile Processing area, the Surg Tech will operate the sterilizers and run the various testing to validate and verify sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies. The Surg Tech will be responsible for cleaning and decontamination of surgical instruments following their use in surgery after regular hours, and checking instruments before and after cases for proper working condition and sterility.

Responsibility

Uses principles of aseptic practice in varying situations.  Inspects sterile items for contamination before opening. Maintains sterility while opening sterile items for procedure.  Anticipates the need for supplies and equipment.  Checks supplies for outdates, restocks operating room and orders supplies to maintain an adequate on hand supply.

Accountability

The Surgical Technician reports directly to the Surgical Services Unit Manager.

Special Demands

Mental:          Moderate to high stress.  Physical/emotional stamina with the ability to perform effectively in stressful situations at times.  Ability to adjust and interact with a wide variety of job situations involving many different people and projects.

Qualifications

Experience:  Current Surgical Technician certification or a minimum of one year of current experience as a surg technician is preferred.  Must Register as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado. Previous experience as CNA or LPN will be considered (must still be registered as a Surg Tech with the State of Colorado before employment). CPR certification required or attained within first 6 months.

Employment Variables

General working hours are 0630 – 1500, Monday thru Friday.  On call status is involved.
