The hospital expansion project has been a few years in the making, but the improvements were definitely worth the wait. You’re invited for a first-hand look at the new areas and to help celebrate the grand opening on Thursday, September 22 between 4 – 6 pm. Parents, bring your children right after school as teddy bears will be handed out to the first 100 kids! All attending community members will be treated to a tour, giveaways and refreshments.
“Our building expansion project is complete and we are ready to share the enhancements with the community,” said Karen Bryant, Chief Operating Officer with Prowers Medical Center.
If you come, you’ll be impressed by the two new operating suites and equipment, enhanced pre- and post-op areas, expanded emergency department and a large, new gymnasium for rehabilitation from injuries and surgeries. Many of these enhancements mean more privacy and better care for patients—and at no extra cost to you. The expansion was covered by the hospital’s general operating budget, not from additional tax dollars, so it’s a win-win for the community!
“This has been several years in the making and it took a whole community to pull it together. The hospital and the community are one—when we improve, we improve the community and visa versa. I truly believe that,” said Craig R. Loveless, PMC’s Chief Executive Officer.
The completion of its new facilities compliments recent awards received by the hospital. Quorum Health Resources (Quorum) just held their Annual Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. The event included an awards ceremony recognizing top performing hospitals nationwide where Quorum announces the winners of the National Excellence in Leadership awards. Prowers Medical Center received both the “Most Improved Performance” and “Best Overall Performance” among Critical Access Hospitals for 2016.
“We were told at the conference that it’s rare that a hospital receives two awards,” Bryant said.
Dr. Margaret Loewen with PMC believes the hospital received the award because all employees contribute to the hospitals’ success as a united team. She was pleased a health organization outside the hospital took notice.
“We’ve made some important strides in quality of care and it’s showing up in other places in addition to patient satisfaction,” she said.
Prowers Medical Center is proud to be the central place for health care in our community, offering both primary and specialty care. Please join us for our open house celebration!
