Clinic Providers Appreciated for Their Expertise

In honor of Doctor’s Day on March 30, Prowers Medical Center would like to celebrate our dedicated medical providers who work in our Clinic and offer family medicine, women’s health and pediatric care. Please join us for our Doctor’s Day celebration on March 30 from 2 – 4 pm at the Clinic to say thank you to your favorite provider!

Prowers Medical Center provides care to the entire family. We offer specialty services for women and children, and employ a team of six talented physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners to offer family medicine services. We are pleased to be able to provide our community with these services. It’s because Lamar is such a great place to live that we are able to attract such a talented group of providers—something other small towns struggle to offer. For their dedication and exceptional care, we say thank you!

Expanded women’s health services

Over the past year, Dr. Steven Foley has played an integral role in developing our women’s health services. He has brought new services and specialized care to the women of our area. Most recently, he created a weight loss program for women and teen girls that’s helping them find success where they hadn’t before. He brings treatment for polycystic ovarian syndrome, all types of incontinence, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, menopause treatment with bioidentical hormones, pelvic prolapse, and other conditions that could not be readily treated prior to his arrival. He also provides wellness care for women, including screens for breast cancer, cervical cancer, STDs, and other diseases and offers family planning services. Of course, a large part of what he does is provide prenatal, labor and delivery care, including high risk pregnancies. Dr. Christian Korkis, MD, and Sharon Hendricks FNP/CNM are available to help deliver babies. We’re grateful to have them all!

“The services we offer are of the same caliber as those offered by much larger facilities. We have everything we need to provide high quality care for women,” said Dr. Steven Foley.

Dr. Diane Foley, pediatrician, offers specialty care for kids

Last May, we were excited to have Dr. Diane Foley join our team. As a pediatrician, she brings a new level of expertise to families in our community. When kids need to see a specialist, she’s there—to guide more complex health issues, offer adolescent gynecology services (a specialty of hers), and provide wellness exams. She works part time in the Clinic and is available on various days during the month, averaging 6 to 10 days per month. Her more usual office days are Thursdays and Fridays. For example, she’s available April 4,5,6,18,19 and 20.

“One of the best parts of being a pediatrician is watching your patients grow up and walking alongside parents as they raise their children,” she said.

The Clinic care team, here to serve

We are fortunate to have such a strong family practice team to serve the immediate and ongoing healthcare needs as primary care providers. Primary care providers see you regularly through the years and monitor your healthcare, helping guide your next move when it comes to coping with diseases, or living a healthy lifestyle. Much of this is done through annual wellness exams and health screens. If it’s been a year, it’s time to call and schedule your annual wellness exam for yourself and your kids. If you have Medicare, take advantage of the benefit of an annual wellness exam.

Primary care providers at the Clinic include Dr. Rick Ray, Dr. Margaret Loewen, Renee Weakly, FNP-C, Meagan Hillman, PA-C, Fidella Brown, FNP-C, Kim Collymore, FNP-C. The group makes up a skilled, collaborative team that’s focused on patient health.

We wish all of our providers a happy Doctor’s Day! To reach Prowers Medical Center Clinic, call (719) 336-6767. To learn more, visit prowersmedical.com.
